This mural represents the divine and symbolic union of the masculine and feminine energies embodied as Ardhanarishwara. As an artwork, it serves as both a visual and spiritual manifestation of the interconnectedness of opposite energies of universe. Using this Mural artform, I aim to explore the duality present and the asymmetry of the figure representing the dynamic and fluid nature of identity, the male and female counterparts are interdependent and complementary with an idea of wholeness, unity and integration.
The rich colors and flowing patterns in the mural talk about the vibrancy of this balance- color and form swirl around the figure to evoke a sense of movement, transformation and elevation. The inclusion of natural motifs, geometric patterns and symbolic imagery further emphasizes the connection between the divine and the natural world, highlighting how cosmic forces manifest in everyday.
This mural artform is a tribute to the power of balance, the sacred unity and the profound beauty that arises when we embrace both aspects of existence, whether within ourselves or in the world around us. I invite viewers to contemplate their own relationships with dualities, inviting reflection on the interconnectedness and dependence that sustain the world.
